Moodboards

Today we had our first photoshop session where we learnt how to create moodboards and the best ways to source photos to create one.

We were tasked to create an A3 moodboard for our upcoming Narnia project. I found this session a good recap into how photoshop worked as I had a lot of experience from my first-year last year in Textiles design.

We were also taught how to save work correctly and the importance of saving to the correct file to enable us to have more storage on our devices which I found useful as I often run into this problem towards the end of the year.

Selection Tools

In today's session we looked at using the different selection tools.

Taking a photo from google, I then used each selection tool to find which one gave a cleaner cut of the image. This is a technique I’m familiar with as I've used it a lot previously. I find the object selection tool the quickest method to cut an image out however if a shape is complex then it might not be as accurate which I would then turn to the lasso tools. I like using the magic wand tool to change certain colours of the image such as the colour and saturation.
